Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Officially Divorced From Evelyn Lozada

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is officially divorced from reality TV star Evelyn Lozada following accusations of domestic battery.

Johnson attorney Adam Swickle confirmed Wednesday the divorce was finalized. The couple wed on July 4.

Johnson said this summer he legally changed his name from the playful “Ochocinco” moniker because of his marriage to Lozada. Johnson was also battling for a roster spot on the Miami Dolphins after stellar seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and a not-so-great year with the New England Patriots.

But in August, Lozada accused him of head-butting her during an argument and filed for divorce. The Dolphins promptly cut Johnson, who still faces misdemeanor battery charges. Swickle said the divorce was governed by a confidential prenuptial agreement.

Lozada stars on TV’s “Basketball Wives.”
