LAND O’LAKES, Fla. (AP) — Pasco County authorities say the pilot of an ultra-light plane that crashed into power lines has died.
A sheriff’s office statement identifies the victim as 53-year-old William George Athey of Odessa. His body was removed from the plane shortly after the Sunday morning crash in Land O’Lakes.
A prelimary investigation by the sheriff’s office shows the crash appears to be accidental. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
