Hurricane Watch Issued For All Of Florida Keys

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters have issued a hurricane watch for all of the Florida Keys as Isaac passes over Haiti.

The National Hurricane Center said early Saturday that the hurricane watch covers all of the Keys, Florida Bay, and the coast of the southern Florida peninsula from Ocean Reef on the east coast to Bonita Beach on the west coast.

The center says a tropical storm warning is in effect for the southeast Florida coast from Jupiter Inlet southward on the east coast, and from Bonita Beach southward on the west coast. It also covers Florida Bay and Lake Okeechobee.

And, the center issued a tropical storm watch for the east-central Florida coast from north of Jupiter Inlet to Sebastian Inlet.

Tropical storm conditions are expected to reach south Florida and the Florida Keys on Sunday, with hurricane conditions possible over the Keys, Florida Bay and the southernmost Florida peninsula by Sunday night.
