Man Charged With Helping British Teen Run Away

DAVENPORT, Fla. (AP) — A Mississippi man is under arrest for helping a British teen run away from her family while she was vacationing in central Florida.

Polk County Sheriff detectives said Wednesday that 21-year-old Zachary Miller faces interference with child custody and other charges for picking up the 16-year-old girl from the Davenport, Fla. neighborhood where she was staying. Miller drove with the teen back to his home in Mississippi last week.

Miller was arrested in Starkville, Miss. and was expected to be extradited back to Florida to face charges.

Authorities say Miller and the teen met through a social networking site three months before she came to the Orlando area for a family vacation.

Detectives also say Miller and the teen had been planning on running away together since last June.
