We’ve got the scoop on the events that are guaranteed to help you blow off your work week stress. There’s something for everyone this weekend; there’s a free and open to the public Buc’s night training camp, concerts, even a food truck festival! Here’s the complete lowdown on what’s shaking in Tampa Bay the weekend of Aug. 3 – 5.


2012 State wide Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday

Florida’s back-to-school sales tax holiday is back again this weekend to help you save money while you get your child the items they need for the 2012-2013 school year. The annual sales tax holiday will begin 12:01 a.m. Friday and run through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Palm Harbor First Friday Food Trucks

This event is free and open to the public. Cusine served by the food truck is extra.  For the kids bouncy houses and rock climbing wall. There also will be a cash mob, sidewalk chalk art and music.

First Friday St. Pete – Block Party

Central Avenue downtown St. Petersburg
Between 2nd and 3rd Street South

“First Friday St. Pete” takes place on Central Avenue in the Heart of downtown St. Petersburg every first Friday of the month year round. Start your weekend off right by sipping a brew or glass of wine while enjoying the rocking tunes of a live street band. In addition to the live music by the Venturas, there will be food at various restaurants.

Wazoo is one of Lowery Park Zoo annual fund raiser. 250 beers and specialty ales from around the world, dozens of local restaurants serving food and live music. Price: $60, $20 designated driver; $90, $30 designated driver VIP.


Buccaneer Night Training Camp
Saturday Night Raymond James Stadium
Gates Open At 4 PM

4PM – 6PM  Autographs, followed by Buc cheerleaders performance at 6:15, practice and live scrimmage 6:30-845 p.m. and fireworks 9 p.m. / Free parking & admission (parking lots open at 2:30 p.m.)

Watch your favorite Bucs players practice while enjoying autographs, merchandise, and appearances by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders and mascot Captain Fear. $1 hot dogs and soft drinks, plus Fireworks. This event is completely free and fit for the entire family.
