PALM BAY, Fla. (AP) — A central Florida man accused of stabbing a homeless man multiple times in the torso faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Brevard County Jail records show 19-year-old Dillon Hunter Craig was being held Sunday without bond. His court appearance is Monday. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
Palm Bay Police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez told Florida Today Craig fled after the attack Saturday evening. Police officers and a K-9 unit later found Craig in the woods and took him into custody.
The victim, 41-year-old Derick Lee Plaster, underwent surgery Saturday night. He also suffered a stab wound to the leg. His condition has not yet been updated.
