TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Tampa man has been charged with second degree murder after authorities say he fatally stabbed a man who was on his way to a drug deal.
Neighbors found 18-year-old Grant Woodham lying on the sidewalk of a home Thursday. He had been stabbed with an unknown metal object that was still protruding from this chest.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies said Woodham was leaving a friend’s house to sell drugs.
An investigation led authorities to Benjamin Lee Powell. Powell was arrested Saturday inside his car without incident.
Investigators are searching the victim’s vehicle for evidence. Authorities did not elaborate what led to Powell’s arrest.
Powell was also charged with grand theft and possession of marijuana.
