Cops: Women Attack Pizza Hut Delivery Boy With Baseball Bat, Steal Pizzas

DELTONA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – When two women were short on money for a $40 order from Pizza Hut, they had two words for a teenage pizza delivery boy: Batter up.

Volusia County police are in the process of tracking down two women who allegedly hit a 19-year-old pizza delivery boy in the head with a baseball bat, stealing two large pizzas, chicken wings and an apple pie in the process.

WKMG-TV reports that the teen, whose identity has been withheld, approached the Deltona home just after midnight on Monday. After placing the food on a table inside, the woman who greeted him told the teen that she needed to get money. But when the 19-year-old turned around, he was met by another woman carrying a baseball bat.

According to the pizza delivery boy’s conversation with a 911 dispatcher, the woman with the bat struck him once in the head before he was able to wrestle the bat out of her hand, causing her to run off.

The other woman who told the pizza delivery boy that she was going to retrieve money had fled the scene with the food.

“They hit me in the head with a baseball bat and the pizzas are inside the house and the customer has disappeared,” the Pizza Hut employee told the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher, according to WKMG.

The delivery man told the dispatcher that he was unsure of their motive. The women remain at large.
