Search On For Burglar With Restaurant Tastes

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in South Florida are searching for a burglar who has a taste for stealing from restaurants, especially the Asian variety.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office says the man burglarized five restaurants in three different cities last month during a three-hour time frame. Targets included Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese eateries.

Officials say the same man is suspected in at least 15 other burglaries around the county.

Usually the suspect tosses a rock or brick through a glass door, stealing cash and sometimes flat-screen TVs from the businesses. Deputies say surveillance video shows a heavy-set man wearing a ski mask, gloves and dark clothing and carrying a backpack.
