ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS Tampa) - A 911 dispatcher heard a woman who called for help being sexually battered and kidnapped on Saturday, according to St. Petersburg police.
The woman was getting a ride home on Saturday morning with Adam Keith Burns, 32, when she called 911 for help. They had engaged in sexual activity the night before at a party, but Burns was upset with the woman because she had a boyfriend, police records state. Burns stopped the car in an alley near 44th Avenue North, where the alleged assault took place.
The 911 dispatcher heard the woman cry and beg for Burns to let her go, but he didn’t stop and drove off with her in the car.
Burns was arrested a few hours later and charged with sexual battery and kidnapping. Arrest records show Burns has been arrested several times, with charges including possession of cocaine and domestic battery.
