Trayvon Martin’s Parents to Speak in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The parents of Trayvon Martin are scheduled to attend an event at a Tampa church.

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will appear at a town hall meeting Thursday at the Beulah Baptist Institutional Church talk about the shooting of their 17-year-old son nearly two months ago in Sanford.

Thursday’s event is sponsored by the National Bar Association. The town hall meeting is free and open to the public.

Trayvon Martin was shot and killed Feb. 26 on in Sanford. The shooter, George Zimmerman, said he was acting in self-defense and was arrested April 11.
