TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) - Detectives are searching for two men at large in a robbery and shooting that killed one man last week in Tampa.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Fabian Williams, 27, robbed and killed victim Michael Gilbert on April 5. The police report states that Williams and an unidentified man, both armed with semi automatic pistols, demanded money from Gilbert and another victim, who were outside of a friend’s house located at 7924 Flower Avenue. Williams forced the unnamed victim inside the home and a physical altercation occurred.
Shots were fired and the unnamed victim fled the scene. When deputies arrived, they found Gilbert, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, deceased in the front yard of the residence.
Detectives believe the incident was drug-related. A warrant for Williams has been issued for felony first degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm. Detectives are also searching for the second suspect, who is described as a black or Hispanic male, approximately six feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
