St. Pete Burglar Calls Girlfriend to Get Away, She Calls Police

By Allison Mondell, CBS Tampa

TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. (CBS Tampa) –  A St. Petersburg man called his girlfriend to help him get away after he burglarized a Treasure Island home but the woman called the police instead, according to police.

The police report states that Christian Philip Davidson, 30, broke a window in a house located at 133 92nd Avenue at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the residents were not home when Davidson went inside and stole a beer from the refrigerator.  Davidson then went into a bedroom and found a computer in the closet.

Police say the burglar took the computer and called his girlfriend to ask for a getaway ride, but that’s when she called the law enforcement.

Treasure Island police found Davidson with the computer several blocks from the home.  Arrest records show Davidson faces charges of burglary, grand theft, resisting arrest and battery of a law enforcement officer.
