Bring your own basket and get ready for the annual Plant City Easter Egg Hunt. Children are divided into age groups: 3 to 4, 5 to 6, 7 to 8 and 9 to 11, and each group is assigned a leader to meets at a designated nest. Children go with their teams and leaders for the egg hunt while parents wait at the perimeter’s edge. After children collect their eggs, they join their parents at the family reunion tent. Activities requiring bunny dollars include the spacewalk, obstacle course, train ride, caricature portraits and photos with the Easter bunny.

The Florida Railroad Museum features its annual Cotton Tail Special, which includes excursions on a diesel-powered train to the official site of the Easter egg hunt. The round-trip ride takes about 2 1/2 hours and the activities include spending time with Mr. Bunny and participating in the hunt. The Party Caboose departs at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., so make certain to arrive early. Those who would like to extend their activity times may charter the Party Caboose at an additional expense.

The Horse Power for Kids Spring Fest combines the fun of Easter with farm animals and ponies — all for a good cause.  Horse Power for Kids is a non-profit organization offering inner city and at-risk kids the opportunity to build self esteem through their relationship with animals. This year’s fundraising even will feature an Easter egg hunt as well as pony, hay and train rides. Children may interact with farm animals, get their faces painted, then chow down on a free hot dog and drink.

The Clearwater Community Volunteers is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt at Coachman Park, and there are plenty of activities to keep families occupied. Children may interact with animals at the petting zoo or enjoy a pony ride. Activities include face painting, live entertainment, a blow up slide, a bouncy house and rides. The Easter egg hunt kicks off at 12:30 p.m., and participants are advised to arrive early. The lucky kids who discover golden eggs will win a special Easter Bunny.

CBS Tampa Insider’s Tip:  Make sure your kids bring their own Easter baskets and please not there will be separate hunting areas for younger and older children.
