ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Jury selection is set to begin in the trial of a Florida teenager accused of killing a police officer.
Nicholas Lindsey is scheduled to stand trial Monday. He’s accused of shooting Officer David Crawford on a downtown St. Petersburg street in February 2011 after Crawford tried to question him about some car burglaries in the area.
Lindsey was 16 at the time of the shooting. Now 17, he’s being tried as an adult.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Lindsey could face life in prison.
