Woman Disappears On Board Bahamas Cruise Line

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A cruise line says the FBI is investigating the disappearance of a Canadian woman aboard a Bahamas cruise.

Celebration Cruise Line spokesman Glenn Ryerson said Thursday that the FBI was leading the investigation into the disappearance of the 47-year-old woman on the Bahamas Celebration.

Authorities say the woman’s boyfriend last saw her early Wednesday when he left her at a ship gift shop. The ship was returning from Freeport, Bahamas, to the Port of Palm Beach.

The U.S. Coast Guard was searching for the woman in an area spanning 900 miles. Neither the woman’s name nor her boyfriend’s name has been released.

Ryerson says the ship resumed its cruise schedule and returned to sea Wednesday evening.

Messages left for an FBI spokesman were not immediately returned.
