Hillsborough County Teacher Charged with Having Sex with 12-Year-Old

MANGO, Fla. (AP) — A 29-year-old elementary school teacher is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail after being charged with having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy.

Sheriff’s deputies say Ethel Anderson was arrested Wednesday night at her home near Tampa. She’s charged with three counts of lewd battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.

Authorities say the investigation began when the boy’s mother notified detectives that she believed the child was having a sexual relationship with Anderson. The family and the teacher were acquaintances and deputies say he was not her student.

Deputies say began engaging the boy in sexual activity at her home in December.

Anderson teaches at Mango Elementary School. Jail records did not list an attorney for her.

No other details were immediately available.
