Spring Hill Man Arrested For Aggravated Battery

Spring Hill, Fla. (CBS Tampa) –  A 25-year-old Spring Hill Man has been arrested after he drove across town with his screaming girlfriend clinging onto the hood of his car.

A Hernando Country Sheriff’s arrest report states that James Albert Lohlein and his girlfriend, Terina Ayala, got into an altercation at their residence at 4371 Osage Lane on or about February 20, 2012.

Deputies report that during their heated spat Lohlein attempted to leave the home in his car. In an effort to prevent him from  leaving Ayala jumped on top of the hood of the car. This action according the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the woman becoming a fixture on the hood of his car for several miles down busy two-lane roads.

Apparently, in a last ditch effort the remove his screaming girlfriend from the hood of his car deputies say Lohlein intentionally made radical movements trying to dislodge her.  These movements, the arrest affidavit states, ejected Ayala from the hood and unto the roadway causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Lohlein has been arrested on charges of aggravated battery and booked into the Hernando County Jail on no bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on the charges at 9:00 a.m. on March 27, 2012.
