Deputies: Spring Hill Man Shoots Wife Then Calls 911

SPRING HILL, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says a 61-year-old Spring Hill man called 911 Saturday night and told them he had just shot and killed his wife.

The arrest report states that Alan Osterhoudt called 911 around 11:00 p.m. Saturday and allegedly admitted to killing his wife and that” it was the most heinous thing he has ever done in his life. ”

When authorities arrived at the residence at 7190 Raymond Place Drive in Spring Hill they found 66-year-old Maria Osterhoudt deceased in the bathroom. Deputies say she had an apparent head injury possibly from a gun.

Maria Osterhoudt was a popular web design instructor at St. Petersburg College’s Tarpon Springs campus.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office reports that after Mr. Osterhoudt was taken into custody he requested to speak with a lawyer.

Mrs. Osterhoudt next of kin have been notified.

The Osterhoudt’s do not have a history of domestic disputes and neither has a criminal history.

    Al works for Johnson Controls in Tampa and has been under alot of stress at work and has never shown any anger issues in the past this is a very bad situation.
