BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Police in Maine are looking for a couple in connection with the disappearance of a Florida firefighter who had traveled to the state to see a friend.

Authorities say 31-year-old Jerry Perdomo of Orange City,Fla., drove from Florida to Bangor. His rental car was found abandoned on Feb. 17 in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

He was last seen wearing a back zip-up hooded sweat shirt, shorts and black sneakers. He’s described as being Puerto Rican, 5-foot-11, about 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police are looking for 24-year-old Daniel Porter and 25-year-old Cheyanne Nowak. They believe one or both may have had contact with Perdomo. Police said Thursday that they may be traveling in a tan, 2005 Hyundai Elantra sedan with temporary Maine license plate 729-257.
