DUNEDIN, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A man dressed as a pirate was stabbed with the knife from his own costume at Tuesday’s Dunedin Mardi Gras celebration.

Pinellas County deputies say 56-year-old Robert Joseph Casey was posing for pictures with a group of teens he didn’t know. One of the teens grabbed a knife that was part of Casey’s costume and stabbed him.

Dunedin Fire rescue responded to the call and Casey was flown by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies are looking for the white male teen who held the knife and posed for the photo. He is described as wearing being approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and flashing pink glasses.

The stabbing occurred Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. near the Pinellas Trail on Main Street in downtown Dunedin.

Deputies are asking that anyone with information to contact Pinellas Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Mantzanas at (727) 582-6200.
