30 Central Fla Homes Evacuated Near Brush Fire

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say residents in a central Florida community have been returning to their homes after fleeing an intense brush fire.

About 30 homes in eastern Orange County were evacuated Sunday evening as a precaution after the fire was spotted in a nearby wooded area.

Orange County Fire Rescue says more than 50 firefighters worked to contain the blaze to a 10- to 15-acre area.

No homes were damaged, and no injuries were reported.

The evacuated residents were allowed to begin returning to their homes late Sunday.

The firefighters say the state’s Department of Agriculture will be investigating the fire.
