TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Early this morning something was heating up the Raymond James Stadium scoreboard and it wasn’t the Buccaneers.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday several alert and alarmed motorists called 911 to report the Buccaneers scoreboard was on fire.
Tampa Police sent officers to check on it and discovered that it was the speaker system above the north scoreboard that was ablaze due to a electrical fire.
Tampa Fire and Rescue was called and the fire was quickly extinguished. The extent of the damage is unknown at this time.
