Every fair is an overwhelming array of monster truck rallies, heart-attack inducing, delicious food, and exotic animals meant to scare and excite audiences for days. A little planning goes a long way with events like these. Check out these awesome options before you hit the stands.

The Bob Thomas Equestrian Center is a permanent fixture on the Florida State Fairgrounds. The grounds have 471 permanent stalls, five barns, two show rings and space for housing vehicles and trailers. Maybe it’s just because everyone loves the ponies, but the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center is one of the most popular attractions at the fair.

Kachunga and the Alligator Show

Kachunga and the Alligator Show is certain to bring breathtaking and exhilarating excitement to the Florida State Fair this year. Kachunga owns Wildlife Entertainment and Education, and Ocala Wildlife Shows. The show began as an educational, public awareness event in 1987, and in 1989, Kachunga and the Alligator Show made its Florida State Fair debut. Acts include Kachunga capturing an alligator using only his hands and bringing him out of the water onto the deck where spectators may have an up-close look at the creature’s anatomy.

The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show provides old-time family fun and wholesome entertainment. With more than two decades experience these lumberjacks and timber jacks have appeared at some of the world’s most famous exhibits of toughness and masculinity. The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show is certain to impress. Shows are educational as well as entertaining as the teams explain the logging industry and, most specifically, timber history.

Willy’s Washboard Jamboree is a traveling team of Larry Hiskett and his wife, Donnis, also known as Washboard Wanda. The couple travels the globe bringing its rhythmic sounds of washboard music to children who have yet to hear this old-fashioned instrument. Dance with Larry Hiskett as he lives his dream at the fair.

In addition to a circus that includes a full show with live animals and performers, the Coronas of Hollywood also owns the ever-exciting Hollywood Racing Pigs. These squealers include Snoop Hoggy Hogg, Oscar Myer and Dale Earnhog Jr. Be sure to see the giraffe menagerie and Kiddie Land as well.
