Tampa Woman Murdered in Thailand

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) –  Tampa resident and interior designer Wendy Albano was found dead in her hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday.

The Tampa Bay Times reported the suspect in the case is a man from India that Albano met while doing business.  Thailand news agencies report that the man was her boyfriend.  Police said the two were seen entering Albano’s hotel room on Sunday.  An hour later, the man was seen leaving the room with luggage.  Maids at the hotel found Albano’s body the next day.

The U.S. Embassy in Thailand informed Albano’s family of her death on Monday.  Albano, 51, was the mother of two adult daughters.

Albano owned her own interior design business, Wendy Albano Interiors, for eight years.  She was known for decorating high-end homes, including the home of New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter.
