TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A Port of Tampa contractor who fell 20 feet onto the hull of a ship Thursday morning has been taken to Tampa General Hospital.

According to Tampa Police Department at 7 a.m. a 31-year-old shipping contractor fell while working on a ship called the Mary Turner docked across from the Florida Aquarium in the Port Of Tampa.

A Tampa Fire Rescue report states that around 9 a.m. rescue crew were  able to attached a rescue basket to a port crane to lift the man out of the area he had fallen into.

Emergency workers stated the contractor was conscious and talking to paramedics after being pulled to safety.

The contractors condition at this time is unknown.
