ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS Tampa) –  St. Petersburg police are searching for a man suspected of robbing several coin laundries.

On February 9, the man was taped by a video surveillance camera at a laundry facility located at 6400 Fifth Ave. S.  According to St. Petersburg police, the video showed the man using a screwdriver to open up the money drawer of a dryer.  After an alarm sounded, the man fled the scene without any money.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, with dark wavy hair and a clean-shaven look.  He is between 5-feet 5-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall.

Police are asking the public’s help in their search for the man, who is suspected of burglarizing six other coin laundries.  Anyone with knowledge about the suspect is asked to contact Detective Michael Egulf at 727-893-4066 or call the tip line at 727-892-5000.
