ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Early morning temperatures in the bay area felt like winter had finally begun in the Bay area but, not for long.
The good news is that the freezing temperatures will be pushed out of the picture today by warmer air.
Bay area residents woke up this morning to temperatures ranging from the 40s to low 20s in some northern communities
Tampa and Brandenton registered 38-degrees, Lakeland felt a chilly 34 degree morning and north area temperature dipped below freezing. Zephyrhills was 24, New Port Richey 25 and Inverness 27 degrees.
This afternoon, the cooler weather will be replaced by a warming trend with plenty of sunshine and no wind. Temperatures tonight will be chilly but not freezing. Tuesday the highs will be in the mid-70s and Wednesday the high should be close to 80.
Temperatures will return to the 70s on Tuesday and a possible high on Wednesday of 80.
