TAMPA, Fla.  (CBS Tampa) –  The murder trial of Charles Chambers was cut short Tuesday when the alleged victim’s brother shouted at the defendant from the witness stand.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Raynaldo Carillo, the brother of Nelson Carillo, shouted that Chambers was a “freaking killer.”  Judge William Fuente immediately sent the jury out of the court room and called a mistrial.

Charles Chambers, 36, is accused of murdering Nelson Carillo with a knife last June.  According to jail records, Chambers is also charged with grand theft and armed burglary.

Carillo faces charges of contempt of court and a possible six months in jail.  Judge Fuente said Carillo will no longer be a witness in the trial, which is rescheduled for April 9.  Carillo must return on April 20 for his sentencing.
