Former St. Petersburg Mayor Dies

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – According to the Tampa Bay Times, C. Randolph “Randy” Wedding died Monday at the age of 77.

Wedding served as mayor of St. Petersburg from 1973-75.

According to the Times, Wedding was born in St. Pete and had a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Florida.  During his treat he was instrumental in convincing the state to build the I-375 and I-175 highways that leads into downtown St. Petersburg. Plus, he helped in the design of the original Busch Gardens.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
