RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) — A traffic stop in Florida led to a human trafficking case that authorities say started in Alabama.

A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office report says a deputy stopped a car without a tag Saturday afternoon. The driver, 21-year-old Kathleen Roberson, did not have a valid driver’s license. The deputy also found she was carrying $6,000 in cash.

Her passenger, 29-year-old Jessica Roland, had cocaine on her.

The report says an investigation found that five Mexicans in the car were being transported from Alabama to Immokalee, Fla. The group is being held pending deportation.

Roberson is being held without bond pending federal charges for human trafficking. Roland is charged with cocaine possession. It was not immediately known if the women have an attorney.

The U.S. Border Patrol also investigated.
