TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has ruled the death of an 11-month-old child a homicide and charged his mother’s live-in boyfriend with murder.
Authorities say Derron Denard Brown admitted to hitting the infant with his shoulder, forearm, head and fist as the child’s mother was out running errands.
When Lukrisha Milliner returned home she found her child unresponsive and called for help. Nasir Milliner was taken to Florida Hospital in Tampa, where he died.
A medical examiner ruled Friday the infant had died from blunt impact trauma.
Brown has been charged with murder and aggravated child abuse.
