Teen in Critical Condition After Being Shot by Boy

EATONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A 16-year-old is in critical condition in a central Florida hospital after police say he was accidentally shot by a 6-year-old child.

Police say the teen was at home playing video games Sunday night when he was injured. Detectives say the boy picked up a small handgun from the floor because he thought it was a toy.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the teen was struck in the head and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he is on life support.

No further information was immediately released Monday about the case.
