Cops: Patient Assaults Man After Being Told He Couldn’t Smoke Inside Hospital

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – One Florida hospital patient just had to smoke a cigarette, even if it meant allegedly hitting someone out of frustration.

Ricky Gaston, 48, was arrested Wednesday after a physical altercation sprang up as a result of him being prohibited from smoking inside Springbrook Hospital in Brooksville.

Hernando County authorities say a visibly upset Gaston approached a man and allegedly pushed him backwards about five feet after he was told he was not allowed to smoke inside the hospital.

Gaston was charged with misdemeanor battery. He is being held in Hernando County Jail on $500 bond.

He has changed the lives of many people(for the good) in his quest to fulfill his dream. He has never forget where he came from and that in it self is a major milestone.
