Dr. Hector Rivera and his wife Debra, were found dead in their Avila home, Monday night.

Police discovered the couple after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor in the Avila community around 8 p.m. A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office representative confirmed

The Avila residential area is a wealthy, gated community with high security. Police are investigating how the suspect could have entered the residences with such surveillance.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, officials received a search warrant to begin investigating the murders.

Avila Residents have included former Tampa Bay Rays manager Lou Piniella and New York Yankee Joe Posada.
