TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — A Tampa man is accused of torturing and imprisoning his girlfriend for nearly a week.
The Tampa Police Department is currently looking for Leon Washington, 41, who is 6-foot and weighs 260 pounds.
According to a press release obtained by CBS Tampa, Washington allegedly attacked his girlfriend with an ice pick, clothes iron, and a knife and for six days.
“He cut her hair,” Tampa Police Sgt. Bill Todd told WTSP-TV. “There was literally a plastic shopping bag full of her hair that he had cut from her head using shears you would normally trim plants with.”
Police also say Washington attacked the victim’s daughter but did not cause any serious harm to her.
The victim’s sister showed up to visit and found that Washington was holding her sister against her will, according to police reports.
Washington did not want her to take his girlfriend to the hospital. Instead, they went to a neighbor’s house and called for help.
The victim was treated and has been released from the hospital.
Police are offering up to $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Washington.
