Diana Ross Is Coming To The Mahaffey Theater In St. Petersburg

Superstar and Motown legend Diana Ross is coming to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg Friday at 8 p.m. on February 24, 2012.

In a remarkable career spanning over 40 years, Diana Ross rose to fame in the 1960s as lead singer of the Motown group “The Supremes.” In 1970, she launched a solo career that included film and Broadway. Ross is the most successful female artist of all time with over 20 US and UK number 1 singles.

Ross received critical acclaim for her movie role as Billie Holiday in “Lady Sings the Blues”. That role resulted in an Academy Award nomination. She has won a Tony, a Golden Globe, is a best-selling author and has sold over 100 million records.

In 1992, at Christmas, Ross came together with two of the world’s greatest tenors of the 20th Century: Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo, and the three performed a special Christmas concert which was seen around the world. In 1993, “Diana Ross Live: Stolen Moments” was released. The successful “Take Me Higher” was next. Her most recent album “All The Greatest Hits” was release this year.
