Last Shuttle Flight is Fla.’s Top Story

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The end of the space shuttle program after more than three decades of flights to low-earth orbit launched past Gov. Rick Scott’s shakeup of state government and the Casey Anthony murder trial as Florida’s top story of 2011.

murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in a trial that was watched nationwide.

Rounding out the Top 5 were the state’s new requirement that government employees to contribute to their pensions and tourism rebounding along the Gulf coast after the 2010 oil spill.
