ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in the Tampa Bay area say a standoff involving a man barricaded in a house with his three children has ended peacefully.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says its SWAT team was called early Sunday to a Zephyrhills home where an armed man had barricaded himself with his three children.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Doug Tobin says the man had tied up his estranged wife at his home Saturday and then left for her home, where he holed up with their 18-year-old daughter and two sons, ages 3 and 5.
Tobin says the man’s wife was able to free herself and called for help from a neighbor’s house.
The sheriff’s office says the man surrendered after a four-hour standoff. Tobin says none of the children were harmed or threatened.
