There are many sports bars in Tampa Bay. Some are ordinary and some are extraordinary. Here’s a list of  Tampa Bay’s most extraordinary sports bars. All the sports bars on our list have three things in common: great food, large selection of beer, and wall to wall HD TV’s with DirectTV sports packages, including MLB Extra Innings and NFL Ticket.

Hooters
You can never go wrong with Hooters for HD sports, great food and women. Try their Hot Buffalo Shrimp and Fish Tacos, both are home-runs. Pasco County’s New Port Richey Hooters has the best water and sunset views. The Channelside Hooters is a favorite of  Hockey fans because how close it is to the Tampa Bay Times Forum, the home of the Lightning. Residents in the “Burg” flock to the 4th Street Hooters, newest of the 11 Tampa Bay Hooters locations.  The newly remodeled original Hooters in Clearwater is also popular and hopping during baseball and football season . For a complete list of Hooters locations go to their website by clicking here.

Courtside Grille
This upscale sports bar and restaurant is the brain child of former NBA star Matt Geiger.  Courtside Grille is one of the most chic and trendy bar sports bars around with 9,500 square feet of sports loving room. Both Locations have 32 HD flat screen monitors, including 4 giant 5×7 foot satellite connected cinema screens. They even have fun games to play including pool, darts, video golf, and plenty of arcade games. Both the St. Petersburg and Tampa locations have a patio bar for some fresh air and a cold drink. The Tampa Courtside has a fire pit table, basketball court and a kids TV monitored game room.  For more information click here for their website.

Roy Selmon’s Restaurant and Sports Bar
A top spot for Bucs fans, Lee Roy Selmon’s offers great booth seating with many televisions for unobstructed views from every angle. Selmon’s is named after the Bucs Hall of Fame former defensive lineman Lee Roy Selmon.  The food is top notch. They have 4 types of ribs: St. Louis, baby backs, short ribs and short ribs mac ‘N’-cheese. There are 2 Lee Roy Selmon’s  in Tampa (New Tampa and South Tampa), 2 in Pinellas (St. Pete and Palm Harbor) and one in Brandon. All Lee Roy Selmon’s have free Wi-Fi. Buffalo Wild Wings
If you are looking for a casual high-tech sports bar with great Buffalo style chicken wings look no further than Buffalo Wild Wings. Their 14 signature sauces will wow your tastes buds with flavor.  Try the shredded pork burger and it’s definitely an interesting and tasty concept. HD TV’s and sports trivia machines are everywhere. BWW has 7 bay area locations to choose from: Clearwater next to the Phillies spring training complex, New Port Richey, Oldsmar, Brandon, Lakeland and two locations in Riverview. Blue Dog Bistro
Blue Dog Bistro is one of the best sports bars in Tampa Bay not just because sports, it’s also their hot and hopping Ybor location.  They specialize in American & Cajun Cuisine. The young talent is just as exciting as their 35 TV’s with nothing but Direct TV Sports and ESPN on. Blue Dog Bistro offers drink specials and specialized menus for the games. They’ll even host your fantasy football league/draft. They are located on E. Eighth Avenue in Tampa’s Ybor City. (813) 242-6220. Click here to go their website.

The Press Box
For more than 20 years sports fans have packed the Press Box on Dale Mabry in south Tampa to watch the big game or match. The Press Box is serious about sports, so serious they have TV’s stuff everywhere you look.  I counted 23 flat screens and 5 big screens all HD!  They have DirectTV’s MLB Extra Innings, NFL Ticket and NHL Center Ice. The Press Box has a full menu of tasty sports watching favorites that include their famous Buffalo-style wings and chicken. Visit for Happy Hour Monday-Friday and Poker on Wednesday. Click here for their website.

Hattrick’s
For local Tampa residents, Hattrick’s in Downtown Tampa is one of the best sports bars in that area to watch sports. Hattrick’s has a number of big-screen HD TVs and gets all the major sports packages, including MLB Extra Innings NFL Sunday Ticket, NHL Center Ice and NCAA Mega March Madness. Hattrick’s is located at 107 South Franklin Street in near downtown Tampa. For menu details go to their website by clicking here.

Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill
No list of Tampa Bay Sports Bars could be complete without Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill in St. Petersburg. Ferg’s is an institution with baseball fans. Ferg’s is just around the corner from Tropicana Field so the path, complete with its own tunnel leading to Tropicana Field is well-worn by Rays fans.  The menu has everything from Classic Nachos to a Philly Steak. Ferg’s is located on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. For more details go to their website by clicking here.
