Bucs Fan Accused Of Hitting Wife Following Another Tampa Bay Loss

PORT RICHEY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – With a record of 4-11, it has been a long season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The results are starting to wear on fans, such as one Port Richey man who allegedly struck his wife as part of an argument following the loss.

Billy Ray Perry, 50, was arrested at his home on Christmas Eve for allegedly striking his wife after the Buccaneers lost to the Carolina Panthers.

According to police, Perry got “pissed off” after the Bucs dropped another game. He told police that he admitted to yelling at wife. When Pasco County authorities met with Perry’s wife, they discovered bruises on both her arms. The bruises were consistent with what she had told police, according to the report.

The woman told police that Perry, who is pictured in his Buccaneers jersey in his mug shot, grabbed the back of her neck, arms, and shoulders during the course of the fight. Perry’s wife indicated to police that Perry had punched her in the head multiple times during the course of the week, according to the police report.

The Bucs fan was charged with domestic battery. He was released from Land O’Lakes Jail on Christmas morning.
