Saturday Fundraiser For Paralyzed Marine
19 year-old Nick Battles, a Marine from Tampa, was seriously injured during basic training. This accident left Nick paralyzed from the neck down. Tampa Firefighters Charities will be holding a fundraiser this weekend to help with his medical expenses.A fundraiser will take place Saturday, December 17th at the Tampa Firefighters Museum, 720 E Zack St. in downtown Tampa, from 3pm – 6pm. For $10, you’ll receive barbecue, baked beans, cole slaw, and a beer or soft drink… cooked by the firehouse chefs!
Saturday Night Lights: Cowboys Vs Buccaneers
They’re home and sold out for this Saturday night televised blood bath, or dare we hope? Despite the Bucs 4-9 record this season, Saturday night’s game is the perfect setting to tailgate in the stadium’s parking lots and go see some pigskin action. The game may be sold out but there is always the guy standing in front of the stadium willing to help you see some football. Plus, for a small fee you can just park and party. Tailgating is the best time and that small barbecue makes the food taste great after lots of beer. If you prefer to party at home the game will be televised locally on WTTA, Channel 38 on Saturday at 8:20 p.m.
Railfair and Model Train Show
Calling all model train fans the 7th Annual Florida Railfair and Model Train Show is coming to the special events center at the Florida State fair Ground Saturday and Sunday, December 17-18, 2011. Price: $8 – 12 and under are free. Hours: Saturday 17th 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday 18th 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Beef O’ Bradys Bowl Beach Bash and Block Party
There is a beach bash for the Bowl on Sunday from 3- 6p.m. and it’s open to the public. The Bowl Block Party begins Monday night at 5 p.m. at Ferg’s Sports Bar near Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Fans and students from both teams will be enjoying this famous sports bar. The public is welcome. There also will be a Bowl 5K Run/Walk at 6 p.m. on Monday on the east side of Tropicana Field. The public is also welcomed for that as well.
College Football Tuesday in St. Pete
Post season college football comes to St. Petersburg and Tropicana Field. The Beef O’Brady’s Bowl is Tuesday night December 20, 8 p.m.. ESPN will televised this match up between the FIU Panthers vs. Marshall Thundering Herd. Fan Tailgate Extravaganza Tuesday starts at 2 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Public welcome. Parking Opens at 2 p.m. – Gates Open at 6 p.m.
