Tampa Officer Injured When SUV Runs Red Light

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a veteran Tampa police officer received minor injuries when a vehicle ran a red light and crashed into his squad car.

Tampa police say Alonzo Johnson was bruised and shaken after the Thursday night crash. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital after complaining of arm pain.

Police say 30-year-old Celina McIntosh ran through a red light. She was taken to the hospital by family members who arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Authorities say she did not have any obvious injuries.

The damage to the police cruiser is estimated at $8,000. McIntosh’s SUV received about $5,000 in damage.
