Occupy Orlando Demonstrator Arrested For Writing On City Sidewalk

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — An Occupy Orlando demonstrator has been arrested for writing on a city sidewalk with chalk.

Jail records show 25-year-old Timothy Osmar was charged Thursday with writing or painting advertising matter on streets and sidewalks. He’s being in the Orange County Jail on $250 bond. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.

The police report says officers gave Osmar a warning but he continued to write on the sidewalk.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Osmar was also among five demonstrators arrested on Dec. 8 on charges of camping at a park.

This week, Occupy Orlando shifted the majority of its teach-ins and meetings from the park to the plaza at City Hall.
