ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A Florida mother has been accused of threatening her daughter’s classmate on Facebook.
Orange County Sheriff officers have charged Rayshell L. Smith, 34, with written threats to kill or do bodily harm to another person.
According to police reports obtained by CBS Tampa, an argument started between Smith’s daughter and her classmate in November.
The argument between the two students continued on Facebook and that is when Smith joined in.
Police say Smith immediately began making threats against her daughter’s classmate on Facebook.
The student receiving the threats and her father went to police to press charges. Officers then alerted the principal of the school what was happening and officials determined Smith was not to be permitted onto the school’s grounds.
According to police, Smith admitted to making the threats on Facebook. Smith stated that the reason she made these threats was because “several (students) who attend (the school) have been messing with (my daughter) and I am growing tired of it.”
Smith was booked into the Orange County jail and released on $2,500 bond.
