Intruder Drains Tampa YMCA Pool, Costing $3,000

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A YMCA in Tampa is out more than $3,000 when someone emptied every drop of water from the facility’s pool.

The incident was discovered by a worker who saw the dry pool on Monday. Tampa Police say an intruder tampered with the valves.

The St. Petersburg Times reports  that replacing the water and fixing air bubbles in the system will cost the YMCA $3,000 — money that could be used toward other programs.

Tampa Police are investigating. All aquatic programming has been rescheduled or relocated.
