Cops: Man Drives To Hard Rock Casino After Deadly Hit-And-Run

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — A Riverview man is accused of causing a deadly hit-and-run accident and then going to a casino afterward.

Police say Henry Michael Tippins drove straight to a casino after he allegedly crashed his 6,600-pound Hummer into three vehicles, killing one while drunk.

Florida Highway Patrol officers entered the Hard Rock casino late Sunday and arrested Tippins, 28, of Riverview, on 15 charges including DUI, DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene of a deadly crash and property damage and serious injury charges related to DUI.

The victim was 64-year-old Linda Diane Fessel of Plant City. She was driving a Honda CR-V. The crash seriously injured two others, including Consuelo Cassagne, 55, who drove a Toyota Camry, and Felicia Rhodes, 35, driving a Mitsubishi Galant.

Investigators say Tippins ran a red light at 56th Street while driving west on Hillsborough Avenue.
