PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) — Pinellas Park police are investigating an accident involving a car that crashed into a vacant home.
Police say 75-year-old William Shemela was driving Saturday night when he tried to make a U-turn to avoid traffic from a holiday parade. He then lost control of the car, jumped the curb and then crashed into the home.
Shemela and his 75-year-old wife, Barbara, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The house was being renovated and no one was inside at the time of the accident.
