If you are looking for more holiday bang for your buck then look no further than Wild Wonderland at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. On select nights (December 9-11, 16-23, 26-30 from 6:30 – 10 p.m.) Wild Wonderland is jam-packed with a million sparkling holiday lights, live reindeer, penguins and you can even visit with Santa.
Other activities include:
Enchanted Castle Light Show
Rudolph’s Reindeer Games
Free Unlimited Rides
Santa’s Reindeer
Special Holiday Gift Shop
African Penguins
Holiday Displays Zoo-wide
Sweet Shoppe
The kids will love visiting with Santa or Mrs. Clause and telling their holiday wishes. Photo opportunities with Santa cost $10 per photo (5 x 7 color image in a paper Zoo frame). Santa’s visiting center is located near the Manatee Fountains.
There are many rides some are free and some are not. The Overland Express Train and the Winter Carousel are free but the kiddie carnival games, food and souvenirs are not.
There will be face painting, food and drinks, and souvenirs such as the light-up wands and necklaces that you can buy.
My son’s favorite is the Mold-A-Rama wax molds. These molds have “special edition” figures you can’t get during the day such as a snowman, angel and reindeer. These wax molds sell for around $2 each.
Admission: $13 adults, $11 children.
