Police: Florida Man Attacks Friend With Sword

LAKELAND, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Polk County authorities arrest a 25-year old man after he allegedly threatened his friend with a sword.

Police have charged Christopher Lee Roberts with assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

William McClelland III told investigators that he was sitting on the couch when Roberts came at him, wielding a sword and yelling “I will kill you.”

In reports obtained by CBS Tampa, McClelland stated he believed that Roberts was going to kill him with the sword.

Roberts fled from the home but was picked up by authorities soon after.

Roberts is currently being held at Polk County Jail on $1,000 bond.
